Waterford FC are delighted to announce that Jess Lawler has also made the step-up to our women’s side for 2025.

Lawler makes the move to our first-team after joining our WU19’s side mid-way through the 2024 season after spending three years with Wexford FC Women’s.

The 21-year-old joined Wexford in 2022 for their WU19 side before making the move to their senior side where she went on to make 24 appearances in all competitions.

The exciting left footed attacking player now makes the step-up to our senior women’s side ahead of the 2025 SSE Airtricity Women’s Premier Division.

Lawler has spent pre-season to date with the Blues, and will wear the number 3 shirt for the 2025 season.

Head Coach Gary Hunt is glad to have the experienced Lawler join his side for 2025, commenting:

“Having made the move to our under 19s last summer alongside Mia, Jess also contributed massively to the improved success within the side and will now step into our senior team where she will no doubt play a key role, especially with her versatility to play in a range of positions, something we have discussed already.

Her experience in the League with Wexford will no doubt help the group and I am sure she will be a great addition & success for the Blues.”

Jess’s player sponsorship is now available for 2025. Contact Tony Kelly at tony.kelly@waterfordfc.ie to find out more.
