Waterford FC are delighted to announce that Mia Lenihan has become the latest addition of our women’s senior side ahead of our 2025 SSE Airtricity Women’s Premier Division campaign.

Lenihan makes the step-up to our senior team for 2025, having spent the second-half of 2024 with our WU19 side after making the move to her hometown club from Wexford FC Women’s.
Mia joined Wexford in 2022 initially with their WU19’s, before being promoted into their first-team shortly after following consistent impressive performances for their academy side.
An attacking, technical midfielder, Lenihan will give further options to Gary Hunt & his backroom team for the 2025 season.
The 21-year-old will wear the number 10 shirt for the Blues in 2025.
Head Coach Gary Hunt is looking forward to working with Mia for the season ahead, commenting:
“I’m delighted to have Mia signed up for the upcoming season. She is another local talent who has played for other underage clubs around the region before her return to the Blues last summer where she and others helped bring our WU19s to a strong finish in the league.
Having known & coached Mia in her younger days with our local league, I am delighted to see her still pushing herself to play at the highest level and now she will do that for her hometown club in 2025 and beyond.”
Mia’s player sponsorship for the 2025 SSE Airtricity Women’s Premier Division campaign is now available. Contact Tony Kelly at tony.kelly@waterfordfc.ie to find out more.
