WATERFORD FC
Waterford FC kick-off their second round of fixtures of the 2025 League of Ireland season with a clash at home to Sligo Rovers FC on Friday night. Keith Long’s side will look to do the double over John Russell’s side, after the Blues picked up an opening weekend win at the Showgrounds against the BIt o’Red.
Rowan McDonald, Tommy Lonergan & Conan Noonan all netted their first goals for the club back in February in the north-west venue in a 3-2 win for the Blues.
The Blues head into the game sitting in eight position on nine points – five ahead of Friday’s visitors.
SLIGO ROVERS FC
Sligo make the long-journey down to the RSC on Friday looking to pick up just their second win of the season.
With their sole win coming at home to Shamrock Rovers FC at the start of March, Russell’s side will look to close the gap at the bottom of the league table by picking up a result on Friday evening.
Sligo currently sit in tenth position in the Premier Division standings, with four points to their name from the opening round of fixtures.

No fresh injury concerns for Keith Long to contend with after last weekend’s game in Tallaght. Matty Smith remains out, whilst there may be a return for Andy Boyle over the course of this weekend’s double-header.
