Waterford FC vs Bohemian FC

SSE Airtricity Women’s Premier Division

Saturday, 19th April 2025

3pm

RSC, Waterford

WATERFORD FC

Gary Hunt’s side come into Saturday’s game looking to build on their last home performance, where they picked up maximum points at home to DLR Waves FC three-weeks ago thanks to substitute Erin O’Brien’s late double.

Lauren Walsh twice put the Blues in the lead before the visitors pulled back the Blues, before O’Brien’s late brace gave the Blues their first-ever home win.

Waterford suffered defeat on the road last weekend away to Cork City FC at Turners Cross, as they look to return to winning ways on Saturday.

BOHEMIAN FC

The visitors make the journey down from Dubin looking to overcome their disappointing 7-2 defeat at home to Shelbourne FC at Dalymount Park last weekend.

Alban Hysa’s side currently sit in tenth position in the league table, with four points to their name from their opening five league games, with their sole win coming at home to Wexford FC last month.

TEAM NEWS

Lauren Egbuloniu remains out long-term after her recent surgery. Danielle Burle & Danielle Griffin likely to remain out, whilst Chloe Atkinson set to miss a few weeks with an injured shoulder sustained against Cork City FC last weekend.

GARY HUNT’S THOUGHTS

“The group were disappointed to not get something from the game last week which shows how far they have come. A-10 minute spell in the second half which seen us concede 3 goals really put the game beyond us, but to be fair to the girls, they never gave up and pushed all the way to the end.

We know every game brings a unique test and Bohs will be no different, they have had a tough start to the season but have a very good young side so we need to prepare right for the game.

We are looking forward to being back in the RSC again and hoping with the support behind us we can get a result but we will know we have to work hard to get it. We are carrying a few injuries currently but we can’t make excuses and this could be an opportunity for other players to take their chance.”
