WATERFORD FC
John Coleman kicks-off his life as Waterford FC Head Coach with the visit of Galway United FC to the RSC on Friday night in our latest league meeting against the Tribesmen.
The Blues head into Friday’s game full of confidence, with three consecutive wins to their name against Derry City (2-1), Bohemians (2-1) & most recently Shelbourne (1-0) on Monday evening as Matt Lawlor’s interim-work came to an end with a win against the reigning champions with Coleman & his assistant Danny Ventre taking the team forward.
The Blues sit in eighth-place in the SSE Airtricity Men’s Premier Division table going into Friday’s game, just six points off the top of the table in a tightly-congested league table.

GALWAY UNITED FC
John Caulfield’s side travel down to Waterford on Friday on the back of two-losses over the Bank Holiday weekend.
A 2-0 defeat away to St. Patrick’s Athletic in Inchicore on Friday was followed up by a 2-1 loss to Bohemians on Monday at Eamonn Deacy Park – a game that saw Sean Grehan net a 97th minute winner for the second-time in three games for the Phibsborough side.
Galway sit in sixth position in the league table ahead of Friday’s game, just two points ahead of the Blues.

TEAM NEWS
The Blues escaped the Bank Holiday weekend with no fresh injury concerns.
Rowan McDonald returned to the matchday squad on Monday as he overcomes his recent hamstring injury, whilst Trae Coyle, Matty Smith & Andy Boyle remain on the sidelines.
JOHN COLEMAN’S THOUGHTS
“Every game you’re going to play in this league will be tough, there’s not much difference between any team. The fact that we play each other so many times in the season means familiarity is there & everyone is tuned in to how each other plays.
I’m sure John [Caulfield] will have his team wound up just like how I’ll have my team wound up. The least you can expect from your players for them to give everything they can give, and that we don’t leave any stone unturned as a coaching set-up.
The facilities here in Waterford are very good, just like our back-room staff here are excellent, and we’ll do our very best to prepare our players to play the best they possible can on Friday night.”
