Hillary Dumevi Makes Step-Up to Senior Side

Waterford FC are excited to announce that Hillary Dumevi has become the latest member of Gary Hunt’s first-team squad, making the step-up to our Senior Women’s side for the remainder of our 2025 campaign.

A Tramore native, Hillary overcame an ACL injury sustained during her time with Waterford’s WU19 side against Treaty United FC last year, and has shown tremendous dedication in her recovery and development.

Known for her strong tackling and excellent reading of the game, Hillary is set to strengthen the Blues’ defence as the team pushes through the Women’s Premier Division this season.

Hillary will add extra options for Gary Hunt in the Blues defence, with her younger sister Stephanie having a breakout season for our first-team making eight appearances already this year.

Blues Head Coach Gary Hunt is delighted to welcome Hillary into the group for the second-half of 2025, mentioning:

“Hillary has shown a fantastic attitude to working her way back to fitness after such a bad injury last season with our 19s. I wanted to make sure she had the security of knowing that once back and fit that she would get the opportunity to continue her football development with the first team and I am delighted to see she has.

Credit must go to those who worked with her before to keep her focused and on the path to recovery and now with the help of our 19s, I’m sure Hillary will get the minutes she needs to kick on and show what she can do in first team football.

It’s a great moment for her family as she will now potentially line out alongside her sister Stephanie in first team football which could be another first for the club in this our inaugural season.”

Hillary was delighted to join her hometown club’s first-team, commenting:

“I’m delighted to be here and proud to represent a club I’ve been part of since my academy days. This club has shaped me as a player and a person, wearing the jersey at senior level will be a real honour.”

Hillary will wear the number 44 shirt for the Blues.

Great to have you on board, Hillary!
