Waterford FC are delighted to announce we have partnered with the Re-A-Suir Waterford, where members of our off the field team spent an evening with the Re-A-Suir volunteers in Waterford City.

Re-A-Suir is a suicide prevention & peer support team that is based in Waterford city. This group of volunteers give up their evenings to patrol the streets of our city checking in on those who may need support.

Last Friday evening, members of our office staff joined Re-A-Suir where they talked us through exactly what they do, showed us all their various types of equipment, training & scenarios on the night.

Waterford FC Head of Community Development Colin Power spoke of the work Re-A-Suir provide each week, and how impactful the night was, saying: “I would like to sincerely thank everyone at Re-A-Suir for inviting us down last Friday night and the very warm welcome we all received. It was fantastic to hear about and see at first hand the work they do. They provide a vital & crucial service on a voluntary basis in all weathers, and all their team members deserve massive credit. Waterford FC will support Re-A-Suir in any way we can going forward.”

Waterford FC Chief Operating Officer Richy Walsh also gave his praise to the work Re-A-Suir continue to do, mentioning: “A big thank you to the Re-A-Suir team for having us on Friday showing us all the great work they do every Friday night. It was a big eye opener for me and my team to see what they do and I’m truly blown away – they’re an amazing group of people.

We’re looking forward to working with them to help grow awareness to the work they do, and we look forward to having them with us for our game vs Shamrock Rovers next week.”

Re-A-Suir will be present at our upcoming SSE Airtricity Men’s Premier Division game against Shamrock Rovers FC at the RSC next Monday (22nd September) to grow awareness, and we are delighted to announce them as our official match ball for our Men’s Premier Division game against Drogheda United FC on Friday 3rd October.
