Waterford FC is delighted to announce the loan signing of Louis Britton.
Britton joins on loan from Bristol City until the end of June.
The 20-year-old striker signed a professional deal with Bristol City in 2019 after impressing in the Southern League in England; making his first professional appearance in May 2021, scoring on his debut.
The in-demand striker was prolific at U23 level for Bristol City and has impressed during pre-season in Ireland before joining Ian Morris’ Blues side.
Britton adds further firepower to the Blues squad ahead of the season opener in less than three weeks.
Speaking to WaterfordFC.ie, new signing Britton said: “I’m delighted to join Waterford. I’ve heard some really good things about the club, the facilities and the setup so it was a no brainer for me. I’ve played a couple of friendly games in the league and enjoyed it; but when I got the call about Waterford I jumped at the chance.
“I know the manager is one to give young players an opportunity and that’s important for me. I want to score goals and really show what I can do, and this is a great chance for me to do that.
“It was too good an opportunity to turn down and I can’t wait to get to know the squad and staff, and get on the pitch.”
Speaking to WaterfordFC.ie, manager Ian Morris said: “Louis is a big signing for us. He’s physically good, his link up play is excellent and he can finish. Louis is another player who had options elsewhere but wanted to come here. We have competition for places all over the pitch now.”
