Waterford FC is delighted to announce that Romeo Akachukwu has signed a long-term contract at the club.
The 16-year-old prospect has come through the club’s Academy from Under-13 up to the Waterford FC first team.
Romeo joined the club from Ferrybank and has been capped with the Republic of Ireland at underage level – scoring recently in the European Under-17 Championship.
Romeo has been involved in the club’s first team this season, starting both of the last two Blues first team matches.
Speaking to WaterfordFC.ie, First team Head Coach Keith Long said:
“It’s a just reward for Romeo. He’s a talented player and has come through the club’s Academy all the way up and shown his talent – he’s a credit to the hard work he’s putting in.
“He’s been in around the first team with us recently and he’s growing and maturing. He’s getting game time and it’s all learning at this age.
“Romeo has a big future ahead of him and we’re delighted to have him with us.”
