Waterford FC attacker Cameron Cresswell is looking forward to Premier Division football in 2024 after helping the Blues to promotion last season.
The 24-year-old joined the Blues in July having spent time with IK Start in Norway’s OBOS-ligaen, making 26 appearances for the club.
For the Blues, Cresswell scored four goals in 16 appearances for Keith Long’s side as the club defeated Cork City in the Promotion / Relegation Play-Off.
“I can’t wait to get back going,” Cresswell told WaterfordFC.ie, “And I’m really looking forward to seeing the team again.
“There was such a good feeling within the group during the end of season and into the Play Offs and hopefully that connection will help us next year in the Premier Division.”
Despite only joining mid-season, Cresswell was keen to stress the importance of the Blues fans to the team and club.
“Seeing how much it meant to everyone connected with the club, especially the fans, to get into the Premier Division was incredible.
“That passion and support will definitely push us to give everything next year for this club. The fans have been fantastic since I’ve come in and it’ll be great to see them all again really soon.”
The former Derby County attacker is looking forward to getting back to work as pre-season planning is well underway for the Blues.
“Personally, I’ve really enjoyed the move to Ireland and to Waterford. It’s been nice to be home for a few weeks but now I’m really excited to get back and start working hard for next season.”
