Waterford FC are delighted to announce the deadline day loan signing of Harvey Macadam from sister-club Fleetwood Town.

The exciting-midfielder joins the Blues having spent just under two years with the Cod Army where he has made over 40 appearances for Fleetwood across various competitions, as well as finding the back of the net twice.

Macadam has made appearances for Fleetwood in each of the three seasons he’s been with the club, most recently at the start of this month where he played an hour in Fleetwood’s 3-0 home win over Port Vale at Highbury.

The 23-year-old gives further depth to what is already a healthy-looking midfield for Keith Long’s side, with his versatility allowing him to play anywhere across the Blues’ midfield.

Speaking on his move to the Blues, Macadam was delighted to get the deal sorted:

“I’m looking forward to it. Living in a different country in a different league. Obviously I’ve heard lots about the League of Ireland with the attendances going through the roof and the really high standard. I’ve spoke to Barry [Baggley] and Ronan [Coughlan] about the league and they’ve spoken really highly of it”

“I think it’s a good move; I’m looking forward to getting some games under my belt. I think it’s a good move for all parties.”

“I have high energy; I like to turn defence into attack, driving through the thirds, composed on the ball, and hopefully I can score a few goals!”

Harvey Macadam will wear the number 19 shirt with the Blues this season.
