Waterford FC are pleased to announce Richy Walsh has been appointed as the club’s new General Manager.
The life-long Blues fan began volunteering for the club as kit-man, before moving into full-time positions in the club in recent years – first as an Operations Executive, before becoming the club Head of Operations at the beginning of January. The 31-year-old is also the Grandson of legendary Waterford FC Kitman Michael Walsh who is in his 59th season at the club.
Richy will now oversee all areas of the day to day business, located at the club offices in Kingsmeadow Retail Park beside the RSC.
On the appointment, Richy said: “I’m really proud to become general manager of the club. It’s something I’m extremely proud especially with my family’s affiliation with club.”
“I’m very grateful for the opportunity and trust from the club’s directors, and I’m looking forward to the challenge and getting started.”
Walsh will replace current COO Marc O’Donovan-Wyatt, who will leave the club in the coming weeks.
