Waterford FC skipper Barry Baggley has been included in the Northern Ireland U21-side for their upcoming European Championship qualifiers.

Tommy Wright has selected Baggley to be part of his 23-man squad for their upcoming 2025 European Championship qualifiers at home to both England & Ukraine.

With 12 international caps already to his name, Baggley will look to add to that tally after some recent impressive performances with Keith Long’s side. After missing 18 games through a back injury this season, Baggley returned to the Waterford FC squad for our trip away to Drogheda United at the end of July, and has been an ever present since.

Northern Ireland sit in fourth place in Group F on their 2025 European Championship qualifying group, with six points to their name after six matches, ahead of the visit of the groups top-two sides to Northern Ireland over the coming week.

They welcome England to Ballymena on Friday evening (6th September) in a 7:45pm kick-off – an England side that has stars such as James Trafford, Lewis Hall, Jarrell Quansah, Harvey Elliott, Adam Wharton & Omari Hutchinson in their ranks for the clash.

On Tuesday (10th September) they welcome Ukraine’s U21 side to round-up their camp for this international break.

Best of luck, Baggsy!
