Waterford FC are pleased to announce that Shane Nolan has joined our Men’s First-Team staff as our Head Analyst ahead of the 2025 season.
Nolan joins Keith Long’s backroom staff after spending the 2024 League of Ireland season with Wexford FC as part of James Keddy’s first-team staff.
Shane is no stranger to the RSC, having spent almost two years with the Blues between 2021 to 2023 where he was our First-Team Opposition Analyst under the management spells of Marc Bircham, Ian Morris & Danny Searle.
Along with his club analyst career, Nolan has also been part of various Republic of Ireland underage international sides – most recently the MU17’s camp in Spain.
Nolan is a former Blues player having spent 2015 with the club, after spending the previous four seasons in Ferrycarrig Park with Wexford Youths.
Speaking on his appointment, Nolan expressed his delight in being back with the Blues, commenting:
“It’s great to be back working with my hometown club again. When Keith reached out to me with the opportunity to work full-time in the Premier Division, it was a no brainer. I’m really looking forward to Friday night lights back at the RSC”
Waterford FC Head Coach Keith Long was delighted to welcome Shane back to the Blues:
“It’s great to have Shane back at the club. He brings great experience to the role as first-team analyst, along with continuing his role with the U18 national side. I look forward to working with Shane and his expertise in the role”.
Waterford FC would like to wish James Brennan the best of luck as he leaves his role as our first-team performance analyst to take up a role with Burnley FC’s first-team in the EFL Championship, after two years with the Blues.
