After our first home defeat of 2025 last week against Bohemians, the Blues go in search of returning to winning ways against Galway United FC at Eamonn Deacy Park.

Waterford currently occupy second position in the SSE Airtricity Men’s Premier Division table going into Friday’s game against Galway, after picking up three wins from their opening five league games – with wins coming away to Sligo Rovers FC (3-2) & Derry City FC (2-1), along with a 2-1 win against Cork City FC at the RSC last week.

The Blues will look to build on their 100% away record to-date in 2025, with a result against the Tribesmen on Friday evening.

GALWAY UNITED FC

John Caulfield’s Galway return to their home venue on Friday for the visit of the Blues, looking to continue their unbeaten start to 2025.

Galway have picked up 7 points from their opening 5 games, drawing four and winning just once – a 2-1 home win against St. Patrick’s Athletic FC three-weeks ago.

The Tribesmen occupy fourth position in the league table going into Friday’s game, as they look to maintain that unbeaten start to the new campaign.

KEITH LONG’S THOUGHTS

“We know what to expect from Galway. They’ve got some really good players. They’re well drilled & well organised, and John [Caulfield] has them playing in a certain way that is really effective. We will go up there with the right mindset & attittude, and be ready to go win the duels & play how we can”.
