Cork City FC vs Waterford FC

SSE Airtricity Men’s Premier Division

Monday 21st April, 2025

Turners Cross, Cork

5pm

WATERFORD FC

The Blues make the journey to Cork on Monday looking to pick up their second win of the season against Tim Clancy’s side, after our 2-1 win against the Rebel Army at the start of March.

The visitors took the lead early on through Alex Nolan, before the Blues equalised minutes into the second-half through Pádraig Amond’s first of the seaspn. Kyle White stole the winner for the Blues late on, as he was quickest to react inside the City penalty area to give the Blues an important set of three points.

Now with Matt Lawlor leading the side on an interim basis, the Blues will aim to pick up another important set of three points against our Munster rivals on Monday afternoon.

CORK CITY FC

Tim Clancy’s side will look to get three points off the Blues on Monday, fresh from falling to a 1-0 defeat away to Bohemian FC on Friday evening. A late James McManus goal inflicted City with their fifth defeat of the season, as they moved to bottom of the league table for the first time in 2025.

The Rebel Army have picked up seven points to date in 2025 – with just one with to their name (a 2-1 home win against Bohemian FC in February).

TEAM NEWS

The Blues have no fresh injury concerns from Friday night, with Matty Smith the sole absentee for tomorrow’s trip to Turners Cross.
