The Blues make their latest trip to the capital this Friday to take on a St. Patrick’s Athletic side who come into this game with worries of their own.

After an impressive four game win-streak, the Blues fell to defeat last week at the hands of Shamrock Rovers at the RSC. Pádraig Amond got the Blues off to the perfect start after just ten minutes with a sublime header, before three unanswered goals gave Stephen Bradley’s side the points infront of almost 3,500 spectators at the RSC.

Despite the ever-changing table of the SSE Airtricity Men’s Premier Division, the Blues remain in seventh position, with 21 points to their name – sitting four points behind Friday’s opponents with a game in-hand on Stephen Kenny’s side going into the sides meeting.

ST. PATRICK’S ATHLETIC FC

The Inchicore-outfit will look to overcome Monday night’s disappointing 4-0 defeat away to Shamrock Rovers with a result against the Blues on Friday evening.

St. Pats looked to be falling to their sixth defeat of the seaosn last Friday as they trailed Cork City 2-1 in the 89th minute at Richmond Park – before late goals from Zach Elbouzedi & Jamie Lennon gave the side a much needed three points.

With four losses & just 2 wins to their name in their last six games, Stephen Kenny will hope their fortunes can change on Friday night against the Blues.

TEAM NEWS

The Blues will be without the services of Kacper Radkowski for Friday’s game in Inchicore, after suffering an ankle-injury that caused him to be stretchered-off in last weeks defeat at the RSC against Shamrock Rovers.

Matty Smith, Trae Coyle & Andy Boyle remain on the injury-list as they continue their recoveries.

JOHN COLEMAN’S THOUGHTS

“I thought overall our play was quite good last week. I’ve watched the game back a couple times now, and there wasn’t much in the game.

St Pats have their own issues with injuries and suspensions – like what we have – but that all goes out the window when the referee blows the whistle. It’s just two teams trying to win a game.

They have a good, exciting style of football, like us, so it will lend to being a good game live on TV to allow the Irish public watch two teams both trying to win the game”.
