Waterford FC’s Men’s & Women’s sides have found out their opponents for this year’s Sports Direct FAI Cup, after today’s draw that took place in FAI HQ, Abbotstown.

Men

John Coleman’s side have been drawn at home to face Leinster Senior League champions St. Mochtas FC in the second-round of this seasons Sports Direct Men’s FAI Cup.

The LSL outfit are fresh off the back from being crowned Leinster Senior League champions in dramatic fashion just last night, as a 2-0 win over Lucan United gave Mochtas the league title on goal difference over Kilbarrack United.

The Blues will welcome the Dublin-based side to the RSC on the weekend-ending Sunday 20th July, with match details to be confirmed in due course.

Women

Gary Hunt’s Waterford FC side have been drawn away to Shamrock Rovers FC in their Sports Direct Women’s FAI Cup First-Round meeting.

In what is our women’s sides first-ever involvement in the Women’s FAI Cup, they are rewarded with a trip to Tallaght Stadium to take on Collie O’Neill’s side later this month.

The Blues are yet to play the Hoops in league action, as the sides lock horns on Friday week (14th June) in Tallaght in league action, before the Blues make the journey back up the M9 two-weeks later for their cup meeting.

The tie will be played weekend-ending 29th June, with confirmation of date & kick-off time to be shared in due course.
